Specimen Collection

The Autoimmune Brain Panel™ (formerly known as the Cunningham Panel™) helps clinicians identify whether a patient’s neurologic and/or psychiatric symptoms may be due to an infection-triggered autoimmune process by identifying elevated levels of antineuronal antibody biomarkers.

This is a composite panel of five independent assays. Test results assist clinicians in the diagnosis of suspected autoimmune neuropsychiatric conditions and can support appropriate treatment decisions. Moleculera Biosciences is the only facility in the world that performs this Panel.

It is essential that specimens are collected only in approved tubes provided in our collection supplies. NO OTHER TUBES can be used. Results will not be valid from any other type of tube.

Required tube:
Provided in Moleculera patient collection supplies. (Covidien™ 8881301512 glass red-top without additive or gel barrier)
Required specimen:
4-5 mL serum.
Minimum volume:
2.0 mL serum.
Specimen storage:
Up to 1 year when frozen and maintained at -20◦ C.

Moleculera Biosciences observes certain holidays and is closed on weekends. To avoid specimen rejection, DO NOT ship specimens to arrive on the following observed holidays. Also, do not ship specimens on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday as our facility is closed and unable to receive packages.

Patients: A valid test order from a licensed medical provider is required. Patients/responsible parties will be notified when an order is received. Payment is required prior to shipment of collection supplies.
